An office inspired by the urban landscape.

This project earned an honorable mention at the Steelcase 2020 NEXT competition.

Inspired by NEXT’s physical location at a large intersection of Atlanta’s urban landscape, the office will act as microcosm of a city neighborhood. Spatially, the office will resemble a city grid that is converging to a central intersection. Corridors represent city streets, while the perpendicular rooms and seating areas are representative of buildings and green space. Each space is representative of a different social sphere - the first, second and third place. Spaces that represent the first place (the home) will feature residential warm, homey finishes. Spaces that represent the second place (the office) will feel slightly more formal with more neutral finishes. Finally, spaces that represent the third place, will have a hospitality vibe, more vibrant colors, lots of greenery, and ample seating for gathering.
